What’s included

This is the work itself, item by item. If your job does not need one of these, it is not on your estimate.

  • Abatement partners

    Asbestos work is a regulated trade, performed by our abatement partners under Behfar Building project management.

  • Survey and sampling

    Suspect materials sampled and analysed by an accredited laboratory before any work.

  • Classification

    The work classified as Type 1, 2 or 3 under Ontario Regulation 278/05, which sets everything that follows.

  • Notification

    The Ministry of Labour notified where the regulation requires it.

  • Containment and enclosure

    The area enclosed and put under negative pressure to the standard the type requires.

  • Removal

    Material wetted, removed and sealed in labelled bags by trained workers in the required protection.

  • Decontamination

    Worker decontamination facilities set up and used as the regulation requires.

  • Air clearance

    Independent air testing before the containment comes down.

  • Disposal at approved sites

    Waste transported and disposed of at facilities authorised to receive it, with documentation.

How it runs

    Required notifications made, containment built and negative pressure established.

  6. Removal and disposal

    Material removed, bagged and taken to an authorised facility.

  7. Air clearance and reinstatement

    Independent clearance testing passed, containment removed, and the area rebuilt.
